Foster Care
Foster Care Services works with licensed foster homes within the surrounding communities of Jeffersonville, IN. Trained foster parents, under the supervision of Childplace, provide a safe environment for children who have special needs or who have been subject to abuse or neglect.

Case Managers on call 24 hours per day - 7 days a week

Intensive case management is utilized to maintain contact with parents, caseworkers and foster parents

FOSTER PARENT LICENSURE PROCESS: (Regular, Special Needs and Therapeutic)
Basic requirements:

Must be 25 or older
-
Married couples or single individuals
-
Prefer non-smokers

Submit an application with four references

Child protective services background checks for anyone 18 and over living in the home

Criminal background checks for anyone 18 and over living in the home

Home Study

Financial Profile
-
Safety check of home

Physical Exam and TB test
-
First Aid, CPR and Disease Prevention certification

Complete initial state required foster parent curriculum (minimum 20 hours)

Mandatory yearly training/recertification
